Everyone has a story, an opinion, a viewpoint. They have remedies, personal anecdotes, and fun facts. This is a space for me to express myself, finally uninterrupted, finally as long-winded as I choose to be and at long last, without my consummate apology for being so long winded after the long wind. Love me or hate me, this will be me, in all of my imperfection.
I will speak about 3 primary topics in this space;
1) The latent value woven into adversity which is difficult to identify for many people given it’s clever disguise.
2) The growth and beauty of the skill of decisive forgiveness of those who do wrong against us.
3) The power of love and kindness, putting others first, and caring for your neighbor.
Much of my collection of stories, remedies, and suggestions come from my life as a salesperson. Beginning with the sale of pictures I had colored in my coloring books door to door at age 5 (much to the dismay of my parents), the peddling of the freezer on wheels known as Dickie-Dee Ice Cream, Brandon Sun subscription sales while delivering my papers, and selling drinks in the stands at my favorite place in the world, the Keystone Centre during winter fairs and circuses. The selling of safety equipment, tools, advertising, vehicles, boats/atvs/motorcycles/sleds, and finally real estate allowed for many learned communication techniques. I have made a great deal of mistakes and collected a set of skills for doing things effectively, efficiently and with kindness.
Please weed the garden as you like. Take what you like or can use and forget the rest, but above all else…
